Tech Resources You’ll Love

What’s to love about tech? Not a ton, unless it’s … Simple to use. Low cost. Plays well with others.

AKA … It does what you need, presents professionally & helps you scale up.

I sooo wish I had this advise when I was starting out.

There’s a LOT to starting your business, non-profit, etc — so do yourself a favor and keep the tech simple, easy to use & playing well together. That’s NOT the low-end offerings … and it’s not those big all in one tools either.

I knew my starter cheapie-tech didn’t look professional and then… a mentor focused on revenue-for-her got me into one of those big all-in-one-does-a-ton-o’stuff tools. UGH.

My tiny starter list & newbie offerings did not warrant that big all-in-one-does-a-ton-o’stuff a fancy suite Hundreds of Dollars a MONTH.

Worse .. I needed a VA (virtual assistant). VA’s haves many clients. Bigger clients. It’s normal and … it means they rarely have time to fix an urgent or emergency need.

But that’s not all … I didn’t know enough to create the kinds of sales funnels needed — or even lay it out,

VA’s do NOT read your mind, Dorothy <<< this was a good-but-HARD-&-EXPENSIVE lesson to learn… Just sayin…

Plus, that tool had me in-the-tool instead of … <wait for it…> Getting Out There & Serving People!  (Yep, the hidden cost of a complex tool.)

So here’s the truth … there’s a LOT to starting your business, your non-profit, etc — so do yourself a favor and keep the tech simple, easy to use & that play well together.  AKA, that’s NOT low-end or the big all in one tools I started out with.

<<< DRUM ROLL PLEASE! >>>

With these tools, you’ll AVOID my (oh-so-common) newbie mistakes … read on:

  • There’s a LOT to starting your business, non-profit, etc — so keep it simple and easy to use, AND, with tools that play well together. All in one tools have a LOT more than you need, but that’s not all — because they DO have so much, they’re inherently complex.
  • Here are the only three tools you need to get started … and that will serve you well past your first million!
  • Want to hit the “Sweet Spot” of tools? Think tennis. Simple. Powerful. Plays well with others. Note that, for some of these tools, I may receive a small amount when you use my link
    • Email Marketing: ConvertKit is simple to use, has the essential ability most low-cost email marketing miss .. tagging. Plus online help and an affordable pricing structure, so you’re not left wondering about the “how to” part, or bleeding cash as you get started.
    • Web hosting: I’ve been very happy with GreenGeeks – especially in
      • Customer service, responsiveness & good pricing
      • Ease of use (when I need to poke around in c-panel – the backend stuff)
      • Quick response to my questions & the occasional troubleshooting
      • NOTE: GoDaddy used to have good customer service, but as of 2020 they’ve answered that famed Catholic question of my childhood “what am I giving up for Lent?” with giving up customer service. Sad but true.
        • My last GoDaddy purchase was 2019, buying my 22-tiny-ways.com URL, which I then moved to GreenGeeks for the hosting.
        • NOTE: There’s a waiting period when you move a URL from one host (aka GoDaddy) to another (aka GreenGeeks). I’m recalling it’s 60 days, but do check — these things can change.
        • Presuming you don’t have to use your new URL right away, you can save a bit of dough and still enjoy great hosting at GreenGeeks.
